Making Ready for Village!





Camp Starts Monday, June 26th!

Village is a pop-up summer program, run this Summer at the Chalet at 82 Leadmine Rd. We arrived, unloaded our materials, and set about organizing. 

 At right are a few photos of our adventures in setup. 







With just a few short days between the last day of school and the first day of Village, we, the Commissioners (Jesslyn, Mark, Jasmine and Josh) have been making the most of our time at 82 Leadmine Rd. From planning activities and setting up the physical space, we are busy making sure that the fun at Village never stops.

Today is our last prep day. Watch for changes each day as Village progresses. We can't wait to tell our story!

It is day 22, Mini-Fair Eve, and also appraisal day. Homesteaders crafted up a storm preparing for these two events! Side one of last week's newspaper: a must read! Side two After singing and groupies, there was ONE LAST werk berzerk block to work on houses before appraisal time! The barn was real' busy with painters, sculptors, and hot-gluers. Some homesteaders also went to their lands to reinforce fencing and do other landscaping. Final touches Alex ??????'s finished land! Appraisals happened after snack! Groupies and their leading commissioners toured the town and stopped at each property to read its blurb and evaluate pricing. To achieve their appraisal amounts, homesteaders took the median of all of the price-tickets their homes received. Day 8

 Thursday, July 6, day 8... Our werk bezerk 1 was brightened up with a community college class on peep wallpaper making, hosted by a special guest. There will be more of these classes in the future, the next one being on hardwood floor installation as was voted for by homesteaders! Also note: the community college classes are examples of Fed sponsored activities, which are where the peeps' tax rainbows go. The 5% tax was established in time for the first payday, but due to the effect it has had on the Federal budget, it will be up to the peeps to choose between the classes and low taxes. Day 18

Thursday, a "snaptastic" day and our 18th at camp. We started out with singing and announcements. Before homesteaders left the circle, R50 checks signed by the Fed or to be signed by peeps who hadn't completed their house/fence/map were distributed. All but a few peeps earned the reward! Great progress. During werk berzerk 1, Michelle led a community college course on wheel/axel arrangement for mini cars that could be used during land time. There were many attendees due to the high demand for faster travel time. Other homesteaders worked on their homes and businesses, as usual, until snack time.
