Day 22

It is day 22, Mini-Fair Eve, and also appraisal day. Homesteaders crafted up a storm preparing for these two events! Side one of last week's newspaper: a must read! Side two After singing and groupies, there was ONE LAST werk berzerk block to work on houses before appraisal time! The barn was real' busy with painters, sculptors, and hot-gluers. Some homesteaders also went to their lands to reinforce fencing and do other landscaping. Final touches Alex ??????'s finished land! Appraisals happened after snack! Groupies and their leading commissioners toured the town and stopped at each property to read its blurb and evaluate pricing. To achieve their appraisal amounts, homesteaders took the median of all of the price-tickets their homes received. Day 9: S'mores, games and moose songs rule the day.

Today was a fun rainy day at camp. The first town newspaper was delivered! As always we began our day with singing. It was raining so we made a raucous melody and rang our voices off the walls in the barn. It felt like we'd blow off the roof at the loud and crazy parts! Our visiting Community College Professor taught us two new songs to add to our repertoire: A song about a juice-drinking Moose and the other, about a wee bit of wee-wee! ("Oui, oui!" said Jacques in approval!) After singing we moved to our first Werk Bezerk period. Some homesteaders learned how to install hardwood flooring in their homes with our visiting Professor, while others continued construction of their houses in the workshop. Day 8

 Thursday, July 6, day 8... Our werk bezerk 1 was brightened up with a community college class on peep wallpaper making, hosted by a special guest. There will be more of these classes in the future, the next one being on hardwood floor installation as was voted for by homesteaders! Also note: the community college classes are examples of Fed sponsored activities, which are where the peeps' tax rainbows go. The 5% tax was established in time for the first payday, but due to the effect it has had on the Federal budget, it will be up to the peeps to choose between the classes and low taxes.
